hello and happy (finally!) summer…
our new album, “washingtons”, is underway! had our first session with ron (peapod recordings) this past weekend.
if you happen to be online or in the portsmouth area this evening between 7 and 8 pm, turn to wsca 106.1 fm or visit wscafm.org and hear us on portsmouth community radio during “writers in the round” with guy capecelatro III. we’ll be having a grand old time.
after the bulk of the recording is done, we’ll be visiting dj roy at wmpg 90.9 in portland during his show “liberation by sound”. you can hear us either online at wmpg.org or at the frequency listed above on tuesday, july 28th, between 3 and 5 pm.
on thursday, july 30th, we’ll be hitting the new underground music space in portland, the apohadion, with seymour, members of fire on fire, and wooden wand. the doors open at 8 pm, music at 8:30. donations of $7 are appreciated for the traveling bands and use of the lovely theater space. you won’t see the address published in the press, so we invite you to come to 107 hanover street to check it out.
we are currently putting together a series of tours for the fall: stay tuned for dates with tiger saw, audrey ryan, brown bird, the wailing wall, and more…
we hope all’s well in this sunny weather.
take care,
jeremy and jerusha

Big thanks to Evan over at Twig Design for this awesome wordpress conversion of the news section. Evan, his partner Maleah, and their daughter Coco also run coco + milkweed. Hand crafted + printed clothing, accessories and homegoods. And finally, check out Evan’s home recording project if and it. Awesome indie bedroom music.

Mike and Sei from Hearts by Darts visited Portland last weekend for a marathon 3 day mix session. We got 12 songs mixed for their new album, with some time to spare for fried clams at two lights and mackerel and mussels at local 188. The album is going to be killer — more experimental and orchestrated than their debut, an even wider landscape of dreampop, shoegaze & psychedelia.
Listen to 2 new unmastered tracks on their myspace, “Galaxie” and “Gotan”.

We've put together a 2009 preview & 2008 overview compilation, sort of as a distraction from how Maine's longest season has been kicking our asses, but also to commemorate a new rock n roll photography exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art. The comp was given to visitors at one of the opening events for the exhibit.
